Tiger’s Milk® Unaffected by Peanut Butter Concerns

America's Original Nutrition Bar Continues to be a Wholesome, Great Tasting, High-Quality Source of Energy

SALT LAKE CITY--1/22/2009

Tiger's Milk(R), America's original nutrition bar, is reassuring consumers that its delicious alternative to candy bars and other snacks is unaffected by recent peanut butter concerns.  Schiff(R), one of the most trusted and respected brands in the nutritional supplement industry for more than 70 years, has further ensured that the popular bars adhere to strict quality controls throughout the sourcing, manufacturing, packaging and distribution processes and has no affiliation with any affected peanut companies.

In news reports, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced and confirmed that an outbreak of illnesses were linked to a peanut butter and peanut paste processing plant in Blakely, Georgia. While the FDA does not have the authority to order companies to disclose whether their products have been affected by this issue, the agency urged companies whose products do not contain the peanut butter or paste to also make that information available to the public.

"As the news unfolds, it's hard for consumers to know what to buy or which brand to trust," said Bruce Wood, president and CEO of Schiff Nutrition, the manufacturer of Tiger's Milk(R). "Tiger's Milk bars have been a delicious, wholesome source of energy for nearly 50 years, and consumers can confidently rely on the integrity of Tiger's Milk as they do with all nutrition products manufactured by Schiff(R). At Schiff(R) we guarantee the purity and quality of all our products."

Since the 1960's, Tiger's Milk has delivered essential proteins, vitamins and minerals to satisfy healthy appetites. In fact, Tiger's Milk was named by the editors of American Way magazine in the November 2008 issue as one of only six "Most Edible" energy bars (of 30 taste-tested).

Each bar is loaded with 16 vitamins and minerals and contains up to 10 grams of protein -- with zero grams of trans fat. Tiger's Milk is available in regular (1.23-oz) and king size (1.94-oz) and makes an affordable alternative snack for anyone seeking a balance of protein and carbohydrates for energy.

Tiger's Milk nutritional benefits include:

· 16 vitamins and minerals
· Up to 10 grams of protein (king-size bar)
· Good source of calcium and antioxidant Vitamins A and C
· Natural flavors
